Today's Review: Haribo Little Cupcakes

More Haribo goodness to see the year out. I know this one has been around for a little while now, but I've only just managed to find a bag in my local Tesco. It's a build your own cupcake extravaganza, with a choice of two different bases and six different toppings. The possibilities are endless!

Okay, there are actually 12 possibilities. You can have a caramel or lemon base, and either one is good, there's a slight cakey flavour, mixed in with some pretty pleasant lemon and caramel tones. The toppings are pretty good too, definite fruity flavours that match what it says on the bag. They range from classic cake toppings like vanilla and strawberry to the more interesting cherry and blueberry. I couldn't really fault them, they're very sweet, but they all taste distinctly different. There is a slight let down in the texture, these sweets are very heavy, and combined with the sweetness they can get quite sickly after a short while. I guess that helps with portioning, but it does prevent these from being as good as they could be. A neat idea in this bag, mostly pulled off quite well. These are worth a try if you can find them.

My rating: 4/5
